13/Março (March 13th): Master Classes (in parallel)

Master Class by Oded Cohen: Lessons for production management for MTO,                          using G-Shim Simulator
Author of “Ever Improve – A Guide to Managing Production the TOC Way”,                                   “Deming and Goldratt”, “Theory of Constraints Fundamentals”

This one-day master class suggests ways to use Goldratt Simulator - GSim for transferring the relevant knowledge for the MTO - both for planning and for controlling the execution.

Participants with be presented with the concepts and the Injections of the TOC solutions for production. They will run the simulator for getting the feel and the practical aspects of how these injections are manifested and used when managing a production system. During the day participants will:
·      review the key injections of the MTO solution
·      learn how to create management commitment to DDP performance using the simulator
·      review the concepts of planning MTO the TOC Way
·      use the simulator to simulate a one week MTO production plan
·      deal with managing the flow of WIP using buffers
To enable work with the simulator, the participants are expected to have at least one laptop for two participants.

Master Class by Jelena Fedurko: Mastering Thinking Processes – Understanding and Handling Reasoning about Cause and Effect
Author of ““Behind the Cloud: Enhancing Logical Thinking”, “Through Clouds to Solutions: Working with UDEs and UDE Clouds”, “Theory of Constraints Fundamentals”

This one-day master class presents the new knowledge about assumptions – the underlying meaning behind logical connections in the Cloud, the central logical tool of TOC.

Participants will work with examples and cases to see the systematic process of addressing problems and dilemmas. During the day participants will:
·      look at the difference between making a decision and finding a solution
·      discuss the TOC tools that are used in the process from identifying a problem to finding a solution
·      work through different examples of Clouds
·      discuss in detail the process of raising assumptions
·      learn what types of statements should not be accepted as assumptions
·      learn and apply the rules for checking the validity of the raised assumptions
·      learn and apply the rule for finding assumptions that have a very high chance to bring to the direction of solution
·      look into the typical mistakes made in working with UDEs and UDE Clouds

Ability to handle reasoning behind cause and effect allows people to gain a better understanding of the reality, to verbalize their intuition, to check the validity of the statements and to challenge the routine way of addressing and solving problems and dilemmas.
